Terms of Use

These terms apply to the use of Manteca Residents Directory. By accessing the reference, a reader accepts these conditions. Anyone who does not agree should leave the service and avoid using information linked from it.

1. What This Reference Is

Manteca Residents Directory is a private reference to public rolls, record indexes, and historical directory collections concerning Manteca, San Joaquin County, and California. It does not host government records and is not affiliated with Manteca, San Joaquin County, California, a court, library, or other records custodian.

2. Lawful Use Rules

Use the reference and anything reached through it only for lawful purposes. A reader may not use it to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm someone.
  • Locate a person protected by a restraining or protective order.
  • Commit identity theft, fraud, or another unlawful act.
  • Make a decision regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, including credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions.
  • Scrape, copy, or republish the pages at scale.
  • Interfere with service operation, access controls, or security.

3. No Consumer Reports

Manteca Residents Directory is not a consumer reporting agency as that term is defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. section 1681 and following sections. The reference and any result supplied by a linked search provider are not consumer reports. They may not be used to assess eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another FCRA-covered purpose.

4. External Portals and Services

San Joaquin portals, California agencies, courts, libraries, archives, and sponsored search services set their own terms, privacy policies, charges, and availability. Manteca Residents Directory does not control those services and is not responsible for their data practices, content, or operation.

5. No Warranties

The reference is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind. No promise is made that a page, fact, fee, link, portal, search result, or record description is accurate, complete, current, or continuously available.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or similar damages that arise from using this reference or a linked resource, including a decision made from information found through it.

7. Indemnity

A user agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold the operators harmless from claims, demands, losses, and reasonable attorneys' fees arising from the user's misuse of the reference or breach of these terms.

8. Copyright and Site Material

The original writing, design, logo, and layout belong to their respective rights holders and are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a short excerpt with attribution is permitted. Republishing full pages or copying the collection systematically is not.

9. Changes to These Terms

The operators may revise these terms by posting a replacement version. Continued use after the revision is posted means the user accepts the changed terms.

10. Suspension or Termination

Access may be blocked or limited for a person who violates these terms, abuses the service, or threatens its operation. The operators may take that action at their discretion and without advance notice.

11. California Governing Law

California law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles. The California Public Records Act is codified at Government Code sections 7920.000 through 7931.000. California consumer-privacy rules include the Consumer Privacy Act and CPRA amendments at Civil Code section 1798.100 and following sections, plus the Delete Act provisions beginning at Civil Code section 1798.99.80. Those statutes govern the agencies or businesses they cover; they do not turn this private reference into a records custodian.

12. Severability

If a court finds one provision unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in effect to the extent the law permits.

13. Questions

Questions about these terms may be sent through the Contact page. Requests to correct a government record must go to the agency or custodian that holds it.
